LECHUZA blossoms with its new and improved online world

In April 2018, LECHUZA launched its new online shop and asked BE EXCELLENT (part of Dept) to adapt the previous shop to the latest standards.

The high-quality and innovative garden equipment of the Brandstätter brand – Lechuza, is now online with a new look. Lechuza relaunched their new online shop in April 2018, and followed their sister company Playmobil, after their successful relaunch in 2016 and also chose Salesforce Commerce Cloud as their e-commerce platform. Optimisation of the user experience was a key focus during this process.

All adaptions related to the relaunch have been live in 9 languages and in 19 countries worldwide.

RESPONSIVE WEBDESIGN

The site is responsive because Lechuza wanted to meet customer expectations and support the visitors' increasing mobile use of the Internet. BE EXCELLENT has architected the entire website using Responsive Web Design principles, so that all shop content is automatically adapted to the respective screen resolutions – for smartphone, tablet or desktop.

USABILITY

BE EXCELLENT also improved shop usability. Customers are now automatically forwarded to the right country shop, registered buyers are guided quickly through the "Quick Checkout" purchase process and BEE furthermore optimized the "search as you type" search functionality. The PON calculator now automatically calculates the amount of substrate required for plants and table vessels that are added to the cart.

SHOPPING EXPERIENCE THROUGH THEME WORLDS

Lechuza generates a holistic brand experience with the new website because user-oriented content – called 'theme worlds' – go perfectly together with the product variety. Stronger integration of content around planting, watering, care & co. represents the ideal symbiosis to the online offer – consisting of more than 1,500 product variants – for all plant lovers.
